What's the next best step for you?

I'm Dave Donoghue, guitar teacher for those who are stuck and trying to make sense of guitar.

I get it.

Struggling with chord switches, the chords that just won’t come out clear, and the rhythm that seems like a dance you can’t quite get. You've wondered, "Am I too old for this?" or  "Am I even doing this right?".

Hey, I’ve been there.

Starting out with more enthusiasm than skill, battling every frustrating chord and cramping hand. Wondering if my fingers were too big, too small, or just plain uncooperative.

I genuinely understand the ups and downs of this journey, but here’s the real deal: I've cracked the code.

This is my mission: to make guitar learning accessible, enjoyable, and fulfilling for everyone, regardless of age or experience level.

With lessons that have been viewed by over 3.2+ million people worldwide on YouTube alone, I’ve turned the 'too hard' into 'hey, I can actually do this!' I’ve transformed the 'I wish' into 'I did.'

Hear other's experience..

"Dave was nothing but incredibly helpful and supportive when teaching me not only the chords but the proper way to strum as well which I didn’t take into account at all. He was very patient with me and made sure I was doing all what he asked of me every step of the way."
- Will V.

"Lessons with Dave were a fun blend of music theory, learning songs that I heard recently and identifying areas for improvement. Without Dave's teaching, I would not have been able to progress or improve as fast as I did. Dave also helped me to overcome my nerves when playing in front of other people and could even offer great advice for other areas such as singing!"
- Jared M.

"Helped me majorly all the way from beginner level to grades. Even when I thought I wasn't advanced enough to play a certain song or learn that solo he would break it down into pieces and show me how to approach difficult tasks one step at a time."
- Nessan L.

"Learning barre chords was difficult for me as I wasn’t as motivated to practice them compared to lead guitar playing. Dave helped me find a solution to practicing bar chords by playing bar chords in songs I commonly listened to. This was a common technique that I still use to this day myself when I struggle with certain areas of my guitar playing."
- Luke O'S

"Dave's teaching helped me in a variety of different ways; as well as being a moving force in improving my playing, he also gave me a strong theoretical foundation on which to build my knowledge. He was willing to teach at whatever pace was necessary and always found the most effective way of communicating whatever concept he was teaching. Through these years of teaching I was encouraged to pursue a career in music and did so."
- Dylan M.

"I found the lessons really engaging and helpful for a beginner guitar learner. Dave gave me the skills to learn many songs and provided the basis for further exploration in different techniques of guitar playing. The end of term concerts gave me massive confidence boosts."
- Rachel K.

"Nothing is too hard for Dave and he is brilliant at explaining how to do it and also why its done. Great teacher and an even nicer guy. I have already recommended him to my friends and would do it again no problem. 10/10"
- Patrick K.

"I began guitar lessons with a very basic level of playing. While I knew what I wanted to play, I didn't know where to start when it came to practice. Throughout the three years I spent in lessons, I was shown loads of practice methods and opened up to many different styles of music. Building up speed was my main issue when it came to my playing but Dave was excellent at showing me exactly where I was going wrong, and helping fix it."
- Rory B.

"Dave was always extremely patient and helpful in every situation. He was always encouraging me to try playing pieces I didn’t think I could play, but with his help there was no problem I couldn’t overcome! He gave me so many amazing opportunities to perform with other students. Without going to Dave I probably never would have gone out of my comfort zone, and never would have improved."
- Molly R.

"Dave’s enthusiasm for guitar and music in general influenced me and I became more excited to learn new songs and develop my guitar knowledge and technique!

Dave’s teaching techniques also made it very easy to understand and learn the different aspects that were focused on during the lessons."
- Aine K

"The first thing he asked me was "what do you want to learn?". If I didn't know what I wanted to cover one week he would have some new technique or musical style to introduce me to and it was always incredibly informal and fun. He would organise student concerts regularly throughout the year which were, again, very informal and fun. These gave me a really good opportunity to gain experience playing in a live environment but in a safe space.

If I ever had a question related to playing, buying new gear or anything else he might have some insight into he was just a text away. He would devote an ungodly amount of time to helping all his students. I cannot recommend Dave enough if you are interested in learning guitar."
- Ruairi M.

"I completed the finger picking course online with Dave - it's definitely helped develop my hand positioning and overall style, and has given me a brilliant basis for which to improve. Dave explains things with simple messages and total clarity, which makes attempting tricky guitar techniques much more manageable and enjoyable."
- Eanna O'C.

How long does does it take to see results

But what we can say for certain is that guitar players have made major changes to their playing through some of our tutorials in less than a minute in length (see here). And we are committed to help you every step of the way when you hit those inevitable roadblocks and challenges, ensuring you make meaningful progress in reasonable time.
